The 1st step to encode a PIN is selecting a pattern within the PIN PAL matrix.   Using 4 of the 9 available positions, select a pattern that is easy to recall.  We have provided four examples, but 630 different patterns are possible.  For demonstration purposes, let's select the example furthest to the left.  This particular pattern is used in our PIN PAL trademark.
